Egyptian army and police forces exchanged fire with terrorist group at the Northern Sinai peninsula. As an outcome of the battle thirteen terrorists were killed. There is no reported losses on the army side.
Security forces were tipped that suspicious elements are hiding out in the abandoned building at the outskirts of Arish city. As the tactical reconnaissance group approached target location thugs have opened fire. As the assault unfolded thirteen terror suspect was killed, four automatic rifles, two shotguns, three improvised explosive devices seized.
The raids are part of the comprehensive Operation Sinai 2018, a counter-terrorism campaign that involves the army, navy, air force and police. The operation was launched in February to target “terrorist and criminal elements and organisations” in north and central Sinai, parts of the Nile Delta and the Western Desert.
