The United Arab Emirates have officially declared that Egypt will host the Arabian Gulf Super cup match of Al-Ain and Al-Wehda soccer teams. The game is scheduled 25 August and will be held at Cairo Al-Salam Staidum.
“Holding the Super Cup abroad serves important purposes, including enhancing bilateral relations with friendly nations. Sport is a bridge between nations and a mean to strengthen ties between brotherly peoples,” stated Youssif Khoori, the PLC Vice President of the Executive Office.
“Matches like the Super Cup help expand the fanbase of UAE football and attract more fans from Egypt to discover the Arabian Gulf League, also encouraging Egyptian expats to follow local football in the future,” he added.
